Skip counting for Class 2
What skip counting means, one worked example step by step, and 5 questions to try. No timer, no account.
What it means
Skip counting means counting by a number bigger than one: in twos, fives or tens. Each step grows by the same amount. It is the base for times tables and for counting equal groups quickly.
Worked example: Count in 5s: 5, 10, 15, ?
- 1Look at the step size: each number is 5 more than the last.
- 25, then 10, then 15.
- 3Add one more step of 5: 15 + 5.
- 4The next number is 20.
So 5, 10, 15, 20.
